STUDENTS ACTIVITES & ACHIEVEMENTS:
NADAM
Our college students association was started this November. It wishes to promote student participation in development of college and hospital under control and guidance of faculty and management.
1. For better interaction with other Ayurveda colleges.
2. To create public awareness about Ayuveda and promote student participation in social activities.
3. To invite eminent personalities in field of Ayurveda for interaction with students.
4. To initiate activities integrating spirituality and Ayurveda.
5. To promote yoga practice and develop interest among students for Sanskrit language.
6. To collect traditional Ayurvedic knowledge from renowned traditional practitioners and preserve them.
7. To publish newsletter and journals pertaining to Ayurveda.
8. To promote student volunteers in activities of hospital.
SASTRA NADAM
The science wing of students association NADAM, here the students have their opportunity to show their interest and innovative skill in science field. Sastra Nadam aims at creating a scientific attitude among students.
Activities of Sastra Nadam:-
1. Nov 15 – World Diabetes Day
A poster regarding diabetes was displayed on the college notice board.
2. Nov 18 – World Epilepsy Day
Two posters regarding the myths and facts of epilepsy and first aid on epilepsy was presented on the notice board.
3. Dec 1 – World AIDS Day
Sastra Nadam and the Swasthavritta Department as a joint venture conducted an inter campus COLLAGE COMPETITION on 30-11-2007, so as to make the public aware about the dreadful face of AIDS. Awareness badge was distributed to all staff and students.
About 9 teams participated in the competition and the prizes are as follows:-
FIRST PRIZE – Mamtha and team, Amrita school of Ayurveda
Cash award of Rs. 1001/- sponsored by CBM Hospital, Pathanamthitta.
SECOND PRIZE – Basil johney and team, Amrita school of Ayurveda
Cash award of Rs. 501/- sponsored by Naveena Ayurveda Hospital, Vavvakavu
A Cash fund of Rs. 3700/- was raised by all the students and staff of AAMC which was contributed to an AIDS patient.
Dept of Swasthavritta and Sastra Nadam jointly organized an AIDS Awareness Programme at Amrita Vidyalayam, Puthiyakavu for +2 students from 2.45pm to 3.45pm on 1-12-2007.

4. December 10 – National Day for Mentally Retarded
5. A small prayer song dedicated to those unfortunate ones written by Devipriya Soman (2004 batch) was displayed on the Notice board.
KREEDA NADAM
This aim of this branch of Nadam is to make the students aware about the necessity of extra curricular activities especially sports along with studies. The students are encouraged to participate in various sports and games conducted in the campus and also represent the college in Inter Campus sports events.
As a first step towards our goal a series of inter batch cricket matches was conducted in the campus.
Every match was played with a lot of spirit and enthusiasm and was well supported by all the students of the campus.

SAMSKARA NADAM
Being a part of Nadam, the Samskara Nadam aims at promoting the cultural activities in the campus and provide a platform for the students to show their talents.
In relation with the world AIDS day programmes held on Dec 1st 2007, a pencil drawing competition was conducted based on the theme – AIDS awareness.

TATVA NADAM
Tatva Nadam the spiritual and social branch of Nadam, started functioning on Dec 6, 2007. Tatva Nadam aims to evoke spirituality in the minds and thereby encouraging the serving mentality of the people. Tatva Nadam also aims to implement various Principles of Spirituality in life and thereby making youth of confort various situation in better way in the future. Tatva Nadam includes the imbibement of mental sesrnity and implementation of spiritual and psychological fulfillment. This organization intends to promote the spiritual and traditional tranquility of this Great Nation.
“Geethamritam” (Bhagavad Geeta classes) and “Yogamritam” (Yoga and meditation classes) are organized weekly for all students and faculty members.

The team consisting of MUNEER M KUTTY and ARUN MOHAN bagged the first prize and received a cash award of Rs 4001 and certificates.
Consolation prizes were won by AMBIKA M and MANJU S of the 2004 batch,ATHIRA.V and SREEDEVI(2006 batch).
• INTER CAMPUS BATMINTON TOURNAMENT 2007
AMRUTHA RAJ of 2005 batch bagged First Prizes in Singles and Doubles category.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
A) REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
The republic day celebration was held on January 26th 2007 by the students of Amrita School of Ayurveda. The programme began with Administrative Director Br. Gurucharanamrita Chaitanya hoisting the National flag. This followed by the patriotic song, oath taking ceremony , speeches held by the students. The teachers, students, brahmacharinis & hospital staff also took part in the celebrations. Sweets were distributed at the end of the program.
DHANWANTARI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS:
Dhanwantari Jayanti was celebrated on 7th Nov, 2007 beginning with a grand Homam with special invitees from Mata Amritanandamayi Math and the ritual was graced by Medical Director, Br. Sankara Chaitanya.
SATSANGAM
A Satsangam was conducted in college auditorium by Br. Subhamrita Chaitanya on Sep 16th 2007 2:00 pm. Students of all batches attended the function. He spoke about success what it really means and how to achieve. At the end, there was an interactive session, where the students presented there views and cleared there doubts.
AMRITAJEEVANAM
Students of Amrita School of Ayurveda, had set up a stall “Amritajeevanam” during Amma’s Birthday at the Amrita School of Engineering campus, under the guidance of teaching staff and management. This was inaugurated on Sep 27th at 9 am by Dr. Nandakumar, I/C Principal of Amrita School of Ayurveda.
Within the small area, students presented maximum information on Swasthavritta, Dravyaguna, Bhaisajya Kalpana, Yoga, etc through charts and models. There was also continuous LCD projections on various aspects of Ayurveda . The whole work was intended to show the public the ways to live a healthy life through Ayurveda. There was facility for free medical consultation and BP check up within the stall. Students also marketed “DASANAKANTHI” tooth powder and other Amrita Pharmacy Products . The students were able to interact with many eminent scholars from various fields. They were able to boost within themselves the spirit of working together and improve communication skills. The students are looking forward to do it better in the coming years.
NAVATHI CELEBRATIONS – KOTTAKKAL
Three students from 2004 Batch III Prof BAMS, Devipriya Soman, Rukma U.V., Sreedevi N. Nampoothiri participated in the talent search competition conducted by Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varrier Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala in connection with their Navathi Celebrations on 29th January 2008.
The competition comprised of preliminary written competition on Ayurveda, Debate session, extempore speech, group discussion and role play. A total of 56 students participated from various Ayurveda colleges. Among which 30 were screened from 1st preliminary round. Later from debate and extempore session 20 of the students were screened which comprised our 3 students.
NIROOHA – SEMINAR
A seminar ‘Nirooha’ was held at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, in relation to the 90th Anniversary of their college on 5th February, 2008. Students from Amrita School of Ayurveda attended the same. There were four papers on the topic,
1. Action of Vasti on Neurological and Auto Immune Disorders
2. Kati Vasti
3. Action of Vasti on Urogenital System
4. A research protocol on Vasti.
All the papers were interesting and imparted valuable knowledge to the students participated.
