1) Rasashastra and bhaishajya kalpana:
Introduction:Founded in 2005 with the blessings of Mata Amritanandamayi, is a major Department in the B.A.M.S. Curriculum. This Department provides training for the students in various aspects of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics. The Dept. provides training both in theory and practice of Ayurvedic Pharmacy, conducts more than 200 theory classes and 180 practical sessions in the whole professional (i.e. 15 months).
Mission:The mission of the Dept. of Rasashāstra & Bhaishajya Kalpana is to impart technical skills to students in manufacturing medicines as per Ayurvedic classical methods so as to make them proficient and confident in preparing various medicines.

students, staff, faculty and the community.
Vision:Our Vision is to be a leader in giving the best of coaching to students in the field of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics. This will require the pursuit of excellence in everything we do, being true to our values, collaboration among ourselves and with others, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. In building our vision we will take into consideration the legitimate needs and rightful interests of our students and we will emerge as a model for academic pharmacy practice within the State of Kerala.
Objectives:To train the students in various aspects Ayurvedic Pharmacy and to make them efficient in the fields of both Applied pharmacy and Clinical practice.
To offer consultancy to Amrita Ayurveda Pharmacy and Research centre, which supplies authentic and quality medicines for Amrita Ayurveda Hospital.
Goal: To be an internationally recognized pre-eminent center for innovation and discovery in Ayurvedic pharmaceutical sciences.
2) Sharira rachana lab: Well equipped dissection hall with enough number of models and charts for teaching along with cadavers are present in the college building.
INTRODUCTION: The Course consists of the Ayurvedic Anatomy from various Ayurvedic Texts giving more importance to Susruta Samhita. The Course also consists of the Modern Anatomy. The department is providing a comparative study of the Ancient and Modern Concepts of Human Anatomy.This helps the Ayurvedic Physician to update his knowledge

VISION:The goal of the Department is to provide student s a conceptual knowledge in the fundamentals of Ayurvedic science of anatomy correlating with the Modern Medical Science without losing the classical methods of the Science of Ayurveda

• To train quality Ayurveda Medical Practitioners in all areas of Human Pathology.
• To offer consultancy as part of community services in the respective areas to the Amrita Ayurveda Hospital, which is Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham University’s Teaching and Referral Hospital.
3). Kriya Sareera (Physiology and Pathology labs):Well equipped Physiology and Pathology labs are the best assets of our institution. Department of radiology is provided with X- ray machines and Ultrasound scanning machines.
INTRODUCTION:
The Department offers the course Kriya Sareera which is equivalent to the Physiology in the Modern Medicine. The course consists of the topics such as Assessment of prakrti (Physical Constitution), Sara (Excellence of tissue), Physiological functions and Pathological conditions of Humors (Doshas), tssues (Dhatus) and Excreta (Malas), Metabolic Toxins and their effects (AAMA), Ayurvedic concepts of Digestion and Metablism and Ayurvedic Embryology which more relevant in the treatment. The Course also contains the topics from Modern Physiology like Nervous System, Cardio Vascular System, and Respiratory System to enable the students to correlate the Ancient science of Medicine with Modern concepts to increase the quality of treatment.

4). Dravyaguna:
INTRODUCTION:
Dravyaguna is the basic subject of Ayurveda .It is the Materia medica of .This subject includes Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy that includes the knowledge on identification of various drugs and the formulations of compound drugs.

The main goal of the department is to help the students to study about herbs used in the preparation of Ayurvedic drugs
VISION:
It is envisaged that the Department of dravya guna will be a centre of excellence in research works in the field of Pharamacological action of herbal drugs.
