It aims to provide excellent value-based education, while moulding the character of the younger generation through a synthesis of science and spirituality, so that their earnest endeavor to achieve progress and prosperity in life is matched by an ardent desire to extend selfless service to the society

The Amrita School of Ayurveda campus is situated on 25 acres of beautiful land near the backwaters along the coast of Kerala, only a few minutes from Amma's Amritapuri Ashram.
A part of the herbal garden where 500 rare species of medicinal plants are grown has been earmarked exclusively for growing herbs required for teaching and for the hospital needs.

The School runs a 5 ½ years graduate course in Ayurveda. The college aims at preparing graduates, to be the standard bearers of Ayurveda. Students are trained here in the same way as the students of modern medicine systems by teaching basic subjects like Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology in detail, to meet the requirements of Central Council of Indian Medicine. After securing a deep understanding of the Ayurvedic fundamentals with extensive practical knowledge, graduates become competent enough to meet the requirements of the National Health Programme and serve in the fields of health and medicine.
The college arranges seminars, guest lectures and health camps at regular periods of time. And it also invites eminent persons to deliver lectures on subjects of the curriculum and on other topics of medical sciences.
The college is equipped with a central library setup with more than 5000 books including Indian and foreign journals. The library is provided with sufficient internet access facilities and it functions from 9.00 am till 10.00 pm on all days. The museum of the college is unique that it is equipped with all types of equipments, specimens, models and charts which are developed in-house
